Seven kids who call themseleves the "Goonies" get themselves into big trouble. It all started in the beginning. Mikey, the main character , has a bunch of friends in there hometown in Astoria, Oregon.  Mikey and his brother Brand  might have to move if his parents can't pay their bills . They plan to save their parents from going bankrupt.
     Mikey and Brand's father told them about a pirate named "One-Eyed Willie" has hidden his loot somewhere in Astoria.  So when Mikey's parents are out, all of his friends come over and venture in to the attic. They find a treasure map hidden behind a painting.  They decide to go on the quest. The Goonies get to a summer resturaunt that has been vacant for years. They find that a criminal family has been hiding out there. Their names are the Fratelli's. They were just in a high speed chase pursuit and one of the sons just broke out of jail. The Goonies go in and the mother of the Fratelli's greet them. The kids believe that the treasure is beneath this place so Mikey fakes that he has to go to the bathroom to go downstairs. Now Sloth comes in the picture. Mikey thinks he is a monster. But Sloth is just the son of the mother who dropped him so many times. So Sloth's face is a little bit messed up.  The kids sneak downstairs and they go under the fireplace and start their journey. Chunk is left behind because he got locked in the freezer because he smelled icecream. They tell Chunk to go get the police but he gets caught by the Fratelli's.
     The Goonies go on their journey full of boobytraps and danger. They keep going on and on. Meanwhile, Chunk befriends Sloth and they try to go rescue Mikey, Brand, Andy, Stef, Mouth, and Data because the Fratelli's are after the Goonies. Right before the Goonies are about to drown from the Fratelli's because they found the treasure.  All of a sudden, Chunk and Sloth come in and save the day.
       The goonies get out of the cave and everybody is waiting for them. When Mikey's dad is about to sign their house over,  Mikey's housekeeper, Rosalita, checks Mikey's pockets. Rosalita opened Mikey's marble bag and found  gems of all kinds, The Fratelli's forgot to check it!  They don't  have to leave. Everybody gets to stay in Astoria.
